This single cask whisky was distilled in 2004 and then hand selected to be bottled in 2017. It spent most of its life maturing in ex-bourbon American oak barrels then it was finished in barrels which previously contained Moscatel, a fortified wine. This bottling was very popular at the show’s and now we have a few bottles left over so a lucky purchaser can keep on enjoying this spectacular dram. Only 314 bottles released and bottled at cask strength. Elysian Whisky Bar Melbourne Tasting Notes Nose: Malty and floral, with notes of honey, syrupy and rich, a bit of ginger and cacao. Taste: Sweet, lots of soft spices, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, bright and vibrant, malty Finish: Sweet towards a dry finish. This is one that really needs time to open up.
