The blender Peter Thomson had a strong relationship with the Macallan distillery and this was the reason the Speyside’s malt was incorporated into the blend. Peter’s son David then took over the blending at the companies premises in Perth. Today the brand is owned by Morrison & Mackay and the core bottling of Old Perth is a blended malt aged between four year and six years. The whisky for this bottling of Old Perth cask strength has been sourced from spirit matured in ex Sherry casks and bottled at 58.6% ABV with no chill filtration and no added colour. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Milk chocolate toffee, vanilla fudge, dried dark fruits and stewed cherries Palate: Gingerbread, cinnamon, freshly cooked oats and malted barley.
