Nevis Dew Blue Label Blended Scotch Whisky (700ml) Volume: 700ml ABV: 40% Age: No Age Statement Country: Scotland Ben Nevis Distillery is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. The distillery is nestled at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, which has a summit elevation of 4’406 feet above sea level giving its malt a renowned name ‘the dew of Ben Nevis’ . This imposing mountain provides an impressive background to a traditional Scottish craft. The distillery was founded by ‘Long John’ Macdonald (no he was not a pirate) in 1825 and in 1848 in a cunning way of promotion presented a cask to Queen Victoria when she visited Fort William. They produce both malt and grain whiskies simultaneously due to installation in 1955 of a special still. The “Blue Label” blend started out in life as a contribution to the stock of millennium whiskies which proliferated the market at that time. Most companies presented aged and most very expensive products, whereas Ben Nevis produced a new blend which did not carry an age statement on the label thus being a new whisky for the new millennium. This whisky won their first gold medal from the International Wines & Spirits Competition in 2000. Now that the millennium is behind them they decided to continue selling this product but re-named as “Blue Label”. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Toffee sweetness, vanilla and red berries. Taste: Vanilla fudge and fresh red berries. Finish: Short finish, slightly Sake like. . For adults of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly.
