Mizunara oak is commonly used for the maturation of whisky and was used to finish this Ichiro’s Malt whisky. This Mizunara Wood Reserve is a vatted malt of Hanyu and Chichibu single malts. Pure Malt matured in Japanese Oak, vatted and bottled at Chichibu distillery. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Wood shavings, perhaps a freshly sharpened pencil, rum and raisin ice cream, plenty of floral aromas of cut grass and some Sandalwood. Palate: There’s the signature apples and pears but with a little citrus added. Toffee sweetness attracts honey and malt. Finish: A little peppery and some spicy ginger.  .
