The distillery has been flying under the radar for quite a while now whilst creating enough stock to supply the high demand the market is throwing at them. Initially released as single cask bottlings the distillery is now concentrating on more consistent offerings. The distillery production is all performed in-house and maturation is predominantly in American oak ex-bourbon casks sourced from the United States. It’s these barrels that give Hobart whisky its edge on other distilleries. Whilst Apera and Fortified wine barrels are more commonly used in the Australian industry Hobart whisky uses the ex-bourbon barrels for initial maturation and then if required applies a finish of another barrel type to create a range of whisky unlike any other in Australia. This whisky liqueur was awarded the World’s Best Honey Liqueur in the 2022 World Whisky Awards. Bottled at 35% ABV to allow the signature Hobart single malt to come through. This liqueur is brilliant on its own, over ice, in a perfect cocktail or with tonic. You could even make a fabulous ‘hot toddie’ with it. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Honey sweetness, candied orange peel, sweet malty notes combine with soft spices. Palate: A floral palate of orange blossom and green barley, fresh fruit salad and dark chocolate. Finish: Long and satisfying, chocolate orange, spice and soft honey notes.    .
