The concept is to enable whisky lovers around the world a chance to come as close as they can to sampling whisky as it was straight from the cask or having a whisky like no other. This bottling is taken from their range of ‘remarkable regional malts’ which is a series of malt whiskies created to take the whisky connoisseur on a journey of the whisky regions of Scotland. Big Peat from Islay, The Epicurean from the Lowlands, Rock Oyster from the country’s islands, Scallywag from Speyside, The Gauldron from Campbeltown and Timorous Beastie from the Highlands. A limited edition bottling of Big Peat, released to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund . The whiskies used were sourced fromIslay distilleries including Caol Ila, Bowmore, Ardbeg and Port Ellen. Only 1,919 bottles were produced, referencing the year the RAF Benevolent Fund was established, and Douglas Laing will be donating £5 to the charity for each bottle sold! Tasting Notes Nose: Smouldering peat with espresso, chocolate, toasted walnuts, cinnamon and smoky oils. Palate: Floral, dried hay, cut grass, Snickers bars, peppery spices and heavy smoke. Finish: Floral notes lead to a short smoky finish with plenty of coastal notes. . For adults of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly.
