This dream became a reality in 1993 when the company purchased Benromach Distillery in Forres. At the time the distillery was virtually derelict, all the fixtures and fittings had been ripped out and sold by the previous owners. Drawing upon generations of expertise in the whisky industry, Benromach was carefully and painstakingly re-equipped ready to recommence operation before it was officially reopened by HRH Prince Charles in 1998. Benromach single malt is created using the finest Scottish barley and the purest spring water from the nearby Romach Hills. The distilling team personally ensure that only the highest quality spirit is filled into sturdy oak casks before being left to mature at Benromach Distillery for many years. Benromach Cask Strength is aged in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks for around 10 years and bottled at natural cask strength of 57.2% ABV. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Plenty of baking spices, clove, cinnamon & nutmeg, soft orange segments coated in dark chocolate, dark toffee and smouldering oak. Palate: Big bold and rich, poached orchard fruits, blackberries and plums, baking spices, earthy peat and black pepper. Finish: Red berries and peat smoke combine with black pepper for a long finish.  . For adults of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly.
