It was matured in an American oak, refill ex-sherry cask which has allowed the whisky to take on some sweetness and some christmas pudding like attributes. A beautifully balance single malt whisky that must be tried to be believed. It is limited to 304 bottles worldwide. Official Tasting Notes Nose: Immediate charred sticks with recently extinguished barbeque and leafy bonfires, this is quite nose-drying with traces of hemp rope and hessian. The smoke becomes more fragrant with time, and blossom notes appear, with salted rum and raisin, raspberry vinegar and roasted salty walnuts Palate: The taste mirrors the nose – immediately ashy and smoky, becoming more gentle with a lovely fruity sweetness, just a hint of the sea and cherries on anopen fire.
