It is matured in 60% ex-Sherry casks and 40% ex-Bourbon casks. The maturation in the Bourbon casks are slightly different to the normal maturation guidelines. Before using the casks they are shaved back slightly. This allows the whisky to gain more flavour influence from the Sherry casks, resulting in a richer, fruitier whisky. Many whisky enthusiasts and writers consider this single malt whisky to be amongst some of the best in the world. This 8 year old expression from Glenfarclas is created to highlight the produce that is used to produce Glenfarclas single malt whisky. It is still focused on the Sherried malty notes however this time the distillery has captured the fruity flavours of the spirit and complimented them with the cask. This has developed into a wonderful creamy, malty rich whisky which is bottled at 40% ABV Our Tasting Notes Nose: Cinnamon dusting,  apple pie,  toffee honey sweetness and dried fruit.
