Port Askaig 100 Proof Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) Volume: 700ml          ABV: 57.1%          Age: No Age Statement          Country: Scotland The Port Askaig range are brought to us by Specialty Drinks Limited who were responsible for the Elements of Islay independently bottled range brought to Australia a few years back. The single malt is produced at an undisclosed distillery however there is plenty of discussion that this is whisky from Caol Ila distillery on Islay. The whisky has been matured in ex-bourbon casks and even though there is no stated age to the whisky it is believed that this whisky has been matured for 7 years. Our Tasting Notes Nose: It’s exceptionally fresh with clean smokey notes. Hints of liquorice, streaky bacon and salty sea air. A dash of water brings out lemon rind, apples and pears and a touch of vanilla. Palate: The peat really hits first but settles and becomes peppery and rather woody. It’s little bursts of vanilla, peat smoke then fresh citrus. Finish: The mouth is full of campfire smoke, tangy lemon and fresh oak.  . For adults of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly.
