Volume: 700ml ABV: 40% Age: No Age Statement Country: Scotland Scapa Distillery was opened in 1885 and embarked on a century of production involving few changes of ownership. It was silent for two years from 1934 and was rebuilt in 1959. The distillery is situated on the mainland of Orkney in Scotland. It is the second most northerly distillery in Scotland, half a mile south of Highland Park distillery. The distillery is run by just three men and no it’s not automated. It has one wash still, one spirit still and only produces single malt. Mothballed in 1994 and then reopened in 2004 by Pernod Ricard. Skiren is the new release single malt from this Orkney distillery. ‘Skiren’ translates as ‘glittering bright sky’ from the old Nordic language. This bottling has been matured in the finest first fill American oak casks and becomes part of the Scapa main range. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Crisp freshly cut granny Smith apples, toasted almonds drizzles of honey sweetness. Slightly creamy with a touch of star anise. Taste: Rich and warm with honey sweetness, lots happening here. Golden delicious apples, candy floss and vanilla fudge. Toasted cereals, citrus and oak. Spice balances the palate. Finish: Lasting oak, still honey sweetness lingering. Medium length with plenty of cereals and toasted nuts.. For adults of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly.
