Expectation from this distillery is a release of some peated sherried whiskies however North Star Spirits have chosen something a little out of the box. This whisky was matured in an American Oak ex-Bourbon Hogshead Barrel. Distilled in November 1990 and then bottled in November 2016. Only 274 bottles produced worldwide. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Blueberry muffins drizzled with sweet caramel and a crumbling of candied citrus. Taste: Lots of honey sweetness (almost like a hot toddy), nutmeg and all spice. Almond slice, vanilla caramel and fresh granny smith apple juice. Finish: Charred oak and dark chocolate as the apples and nutmeg are left behind.  . For adults of legal drinking age.
