The hype starts around 2 weeks prior to the event and limited edition cask strength bottles start to do there rounds of the bars and Ardbeg Embassy’s around the world. On Ardbeg day we get to the smoky tasty goodness that is Ardbeg and realise which friends we share this intriguing taste profile with. This years limited release has been named Grooves and Director of Distilling Dr Bill Lumsden has not only used American oak ex-bourbon barrels to mature this Ardbeg Day release he has matured part of the whisky in re-toasted red wine casks. This has created more intense flavours of smoked spices, smouldering embers and chilli-seasoned meats. ‘These days the Ardbeg community is a worldwide one, and Ardbeg Day is the best way for us all to come together and raise a dram to the ultimate Islay single malt.’ Our Tasting Notes Nose: Salted fudge, treacle, iodine and sea spray. Smouldering oak, freshly cut grass, vanilla toffee, stewed fruits. Palate: Vanilla fudge, freshly baked puff pastry, salted butter, cured meats. Finish: Smouldering embers, cured salted meats and butterscotch sweeties.. For adults of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly.
