Kininvie 17 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Batch 2 (350ml) Volume: 350ml          ABV: 42.6%          Age:  17 Years Old          Country: Scotland Built, owned and operated by William Grant & Sons (Glenfiddich and Balvenie) in 1990 the Kininvie Distillery uses the mashing and maltings from Balvenie Distillery. The mashing process though is very different to the Balvenie process and operations. Kininvie doesn’t use any of Balvenie’s own-malted barley and the fermentation is slightly longer. The stills at Kininvie are very similar to that of Glenfiddich however the wash stills are larger and the whisky characteristics of Kininvie is more floral. Kininvie provides the backbone for Grant’s blended malt brand Monkey’s Shoulder. Kininvie are currently working on new innovative ways to create single malt including a triple distilled single malt, single grain using rye and barley mash and a single distillery blend. This single malt was originally created for the travel retail markets and was matured in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels and also ex-Sherry barrels. Bottled at 42.6% abv. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Citrus and delicatessen meats with honey sweetness. Palate: More honey sweetness leads to malted barley and floral flavours. Black pepper and nutmeg spice.
