This distillery which was built in 1824 near the river Spey in a tranquil Speyside setting is owned by Edrington & William Grant & Sons. Now Macallan 50 Years Old is most famous for being James Bond’s favourite dram so something special is truly happening behind the closed doors of this distillery which is magical. Macallan is a name in whisky that is held at the highest regard and delivers time and time again. First developed in 2018 the third release has been bottled in 2020 and vatted from hand selected European Sherry seasoned oak butts. It boasts an abv of 43% making it the perfect sherried Macallan full of complex flavours and extremely enjoyable to drink. Bottled in a decanter and packaged in a gift box. Our Tasting Notes Nose: The raisins and vanilla burst out of the glass leading to toffee apples, lemon pie and orange zest. Taste: Chocolate appears combining with vanilla and polished oak. Citrus and dark fruits present themselves at the back of the palate. Finish: Little bit of spice and plenty of Christmas cake flavours dance around the tongue.  . For adults of legal drinking age.
