They then selected the best casks for maturation which are sourced directly from distilleries and bodegas around the world. The result is Irish whiskey as it should be, influenced by Sherry, Rum, Bourbon, Stout Beer and Port. All the whiskey from Hyde is non chill filtered which means you receive it as natural as it gets, full of character and no colour added. Taking its name from Douglas Hyde who was the first President of Ireland back in 1938. The Hyde No.9 is distilled using Irish malted barley and finished in tawny port casks from Northern Portugal before being bottled at 43% abv. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Dark Fruits with notes of spice and grape characteristic reminiscent of Tawny Port. Taste: Citrus and spice, with a touch of sweetness with a nutty note, all with a smooth vanilla element. Finish: Grape and port characteristics continue over vanilla and spice..
