With help from their Master Distiller Dave Pickerell they purchase stock of 10 year old blending Whiskey in Canada that was being misused. With this whisky they started to unlock the potential of the local lands and years of knowledge. WhistlePig today produces Rye whiskey of the highest standard and continues to grow its reputation as one of the most sought after Rye whiskey brands in the world. Inspired by the first recorded circumnavigation of the globe, The Boss Hog VII Magellan’s Atlantic is a Straight Rye Whiskey with an uncharted cask journey that stretches across continents. After maturing for 17 years in American Oak, it is then finished in new Spanish staves from the mountainous forests of northern Spain. That wasn’t enough for this outstanding Rye it was then given a period of time in  fragrant South American teakwood. Bottled at cask strength 53.9% abv or 107.8 proof. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Wonderful aromas of baking spices, toasted nuts and espresso with some faint notes of maple sweetness and creamy vanilla. Palate: Dark chocolate cherry ripe bars deep fried, subtle notes of garden herbs and charred oak combine with baking spices and vanilla. Finish: A long mouth coating ending which delivers cinnamon spice, toasted almonds and charred oak.. For adults of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly.
