Founded in 1971 by John Haig & Co. The distillery is was quite unusual, it only opened for 12 month periods and then was closed for 12 months alternating with the nearby Glenlossie distillery of which it shared its employees. Since 2008 the distillery operates continuously and has its own crew of employees. North Star Spirits is an independent bottler based in Glasgow, Scotland. They pride themselves on bottling the finest single malt Scotch whisky, blended whisky and blended malt Scotch whisky. Producing artisan single cask whisky from various regions of Scotland as well as bottling rums, gins and Bourbon whiskey. All products are small batch, bottled at cask strength. This independent bottling of Mannochmore was taken from from one Refill Bourbon Hogshead which was distilled in March 2008 and bottled at 54.5% ABV in February 2021 by North Star Spirits. Only 299 bottles were produced for worldwide distribution. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Boiled sweeties, charred lemon citrus, blonde caramel. Palate: Zesty notes of lemon citrus, salty sweet toffee, poached apples, freshly malted barley and berries fruits. Finish: Freshly baked pastries with salted butter.  .
