Hazelburn is made with un-peated barley, making the spirit light, fruity and very, very subtle. 1997 saw the first distillation of Hazelburn and the first release of the whisky was an eight year old in 2005. It so successful that all 6,000 bottles sold out within a matter of weeks. Like Longrow, Hazelburn is named after one of the old Campbeltown distilleries. Most of the distillery buildings are still standing, though the distillery is long defunct. A small batch release single malt from Campbeltown which has been matured for 13 years in Oloroso Sherry casks. Hazelburn is a non peated whisky from the Springbank distillery on Scotland’s West Coast. Distilled in June 2007 and bottled on April 2021 at 48.6% abv. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Shortbread, dark chocolate, citrus and tropical fruits of melon and papaya, creamy vanilla and some Chinese spices. Palate: Raisins and sultanas mingle with honey sweetness and orchard fruits, star anise and some fresh floral notes. Finish: Creamy vanilla and Tunnocks tea cakes lead to delicious orchard fruits.  .
